Our Board

Tommy Garnett is a dedicated advocate for environmental conservation and sustainable development. With a background in Agricultural and Development Economics, he began his career as a high school teacher in Kenya, later founding the Environmental Foundation for Sierra Leone in 1992 to address the environmental impacts of conflict and destructive mining. Despite challenges, Tommy initiated land reclamation and reforestation projects in Sierra Leone until 1997. Moving to Liberia, he established the Environmental Foundation for Africa and undertook projects addressing environmental issues related to refugees.A member of the IUCN Commission on Education and Communication since 1998, Tommy co-authored various reports and publications focusing on nature conservation, environmental education, and the impact of conflict on biodiversity. Currently serving as the Executive Director of EFA, he manages programs in Sierra Leone, including the Tiwai Island Wildlife Sanctuary, and leads the Biodiversity and Renewable Energy Learning Centre. Tommy, a father of four, also contributed to the UN Panel of Experts monitoring economic sanctions on Liberia from 2003 to 2007. Additionally, he is an alumnus of Cambridge University's Climate Leadership Program and advocates for yoga as a valuable tool in managing stress.

Kathrin Atta-Agyemang is a corporate lawyer who worked in two jurisdictions (Germany & Ghana) and operated her boutique law firm for ten years in Accra. She also trained as a solution-focused Coach and NLP Practitioner. She enjoys working with professionals and supports them in navigating challenging transitions in their professional life or private life.

Mr. Francis Sam is currently the Group General Manager of Melcom Group of Companies (includes Melcom retail chain with over 67 stores and 9 Cash ‘N’ Carry locations nationwide, manufacturing, investment arm, hospitality, Travel & Tour, etc) in Ghana. He has exceptional experience in strategic planning, target alignment, finance and accounting, including cost-benefit analysis, sales, and business development.He is also certified in IFRS from Oxford, international business consulting and operations management expertise. His executive positions have included Assistant Controller at Samsung North America Head Office and Director Finance at Unilever North America where he led numerous projects from inception. Francis has earned a reputation for sound leadership, effective business partnering, and leading initiatives which enhance analysis, structuralcontrols, policy, processes, and GAAP/IFRS reporting. Francis has distinguished industry experiences in Retail, FMCG, Construction, Manufacturing, Banking, Governmental, Non-For-Profit, and Logistics. His International and Ghanaian executive business expertise has been instrumental in founding Altarris Ltd., I-VisionFAAH (Vision-Homes brand), The Mylk Co., Alpha Renewables and A Group Ltd.

She is also the co-founder of LittleBigSouls International, a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing prematurity issues and reducing mortality rates for preterm babies in Africa.
